Measuring sustainability for success
We always plan to remove harmful products or techniques as part of our corporate events and comms service. But how do we measure success and prove that the measures are working? Sadly there wasn’t a reliable and respected solution on the market which is why we developed our system. Thanks to Innovate UK funding, we spent over a year collecting data and building a platform that should revolutionise the events management industry.
Identifying the important parts of an event
SUSSED is a platform which accurately measures and reports the environmental impact of a corporate event. The report breaks down your event performance in terms of carbon, waste and single-use items, providing tangible comparisons and breaking down your scope emissions to include in your ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) reporting.
What do we measure?

What is reported?

How does it work?
SUSSED is a tool developed alongside The Sustainable Events Playbook and helps measure all aspects of the event planning and delivery process. It was created by experienced event managers who are passionate about providing event solutions that do not harm the planet. The platform was designed to meet the real needs of the events industry, with a simple vision of significantly reducing the environmental impact of corporate events.
It’s all about the data!
The platform utilises a broad spread of credible data which analyses each aspect of a corporate event in order to show the amount of carbon which is used or produced. We’ve broken down each section and created data that suits our purpose – It wasn’t available before so we know that we have credible data because we created it.
Accurately measure the environmental impact of your next corporate event using our in-house platform, SUSSED which includes ESG reporting and tangible data comparisons.
Reporting the results
We report on all the sections and provide a detailed breakdown of your event performance. The SUSSED report also has a detailed breakdown of each supplier’s ESG emissions scope, revealing where specifically in the supply chain the emissions were generated.
The scopes are split into 3 sections:
- Scope One is the direct emissions that are owned or controlled by the organisation such as a company-owned car.
- Scope Two is the indirect emissions generated by the organisation’s event. These emissions occur as a result of the organisation’s activity but come from sources that aren’t owned or directly controlled by the organisation, for example, the energy used at the event venue.
- Scope Three is often the most difficult for businesses to measure as it encompasses all other indirect emissions that occur in the value chain of the reporting company, including both upstream and downstream emissions. This could be (but not limited to) travel, freight or waste generated in event operations.

What are the benefits?
The demand for businesses to address environmental issues has become even more crucial. The rising importance of ESG is integral for any modern business to attract investors and it has now become a legal requirement for large UK companies to report on energy usage and carbon emissions in their annual reports.
A complete solution
Using SUSSED will allow you to easily access the carbon breakdown of each aspect of your corporate event as well as the total carbon used in each of the ESG scopes. The aim of the platform is also to educate people to make better decisions when moving forward with their corporate events. By understanding the impact of how you currently run corporate events, it will show what areas you need to improve on.
