The SDG plan
Devising a global plan to make measurable improvements isn’t easy. That’s why the United Nations asked businesses, non-profits, individuals and government agencies to collaborate on solving society’s substantial global problems and the SDGs developed following this consultation.
“We are determined to protect the planet from degradation, including through sustainable consumption and production, sustainably managing its natural resources and taking urgent action on clomp change, so that it can support the needs of the present and future generations.”
Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
What are the SDGs?
They are a collection of seventeen interlinked objectives designed to serve as a ‘shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future’. While we commit to all 17 goals, we have chosen to champion specific goals.
We align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the day-to-day running of our business through our Sustainable Events Playbook and report and measurement platform, SUSSED.
We are paying particular attention to the following goals:
Goal 3: Good health and well-being.
We take steps to ensure the health and well-being of our staff, suppliers and customers are looked after, including both physical and mental health alongside enrichment and growth.
Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth.
We provide well-paid quality jobs in a thriving sector that benefits the UK and Irish economies. Additionally, we support the development and growth of young people in our locations.
Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
We have a track record of innovation for success and for disrupting our industry.
Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
We run corporate events in various locations bringing work and prosperity. We give back to community projects by donating time, expertise and items, and always use local suppliers where possible.
Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production.
We know that events are bad for the planet. That’s why we implemented our Sustainable Events Playbook alongside developing SUSSED – to minimise and control our contribution to this environmental impact.
Goal 13: Climate action.
Our Sustainable Events Playbook was designed specifically to help tackle climate change. One of our business values is ‘Protect the planet’, and we live by that mantra every day.
Let’s protect the planet together…
