One of our core business principles has always been ‘Protect the Planet’, and we’ve consistently looked for meaningful ways to turn that commitment into action. As a creative agency specialising in sustainable events and corporate sustainability initiatives, we embed environmental responsibility into everything we do. We even created our in-house report and measurement platform SUSSED, to measure the environmental impact of our corporate events.

For several years, we’ve partnered with Temwa, supporting their work in remote communities across Malawi that are impacted by forest degradation and poverty. Through their carbon balance tool, we’ve helped contribute to initiatives including tree planting, improved forest management, and sustainable farming practices. 

So when Temwa approached us to help facilitate an immersive leadership event focused on climate resilience, we were delighted to get involved.

On 13th May, ‘Future Forward: A Leadership Gathering for a Resilient Climate Future’ took place at Spike Island in Bristol. The leadership event brought together changemakers, creatives, and business leaders to explore how they could navigate the climate and nature crisis with clarity, confidence, and purpose. The programme featured a climate scientist briefing, a visionary session, interactive Q&A discussions, and time for networking over lunch, creating space for thoughtful dialogue and meaningful connections. As with many of the corporate events we support, the focus was on blending meaningful content with a carefully managed and engaging experience, all whilst being a sustainable event. 

The event was hosted by Rich Potter, Chair of Temwa’s UK Board and Microsoft’s Director of Digital Strategy. Drawing on his experience at the intersection of technology, leadership, and sustainability, Richard guided the flow of the day, framing the conversations and encouraging participants to think practically about how climate resilience can be embedded into organisational strategy. His facilitation created a collaborative atmosphere and ensured each session built momentum throughout the programme.

A highlight of the gathering was the visionary session led by Rob Hopkins, co-founder of the Transition Movement and a leading voice in community-led climate action. Rob inspired attendees to reimagine what a resilient future could look like, encouraging leaders to embrace creativity, storytelling, and bold thinking in tackling the climate and nature crisis. His engaging approach sparked lively discussion and prompted participants to consider how imagination and innovation can play a central role in driving change.

The event was sponsored by Belmont Estate, whose commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices made them a perfect fit. Based in Bristol, they champion biodiversity, responsible land management, and climate-positive initiatives, aligning naturally with the event’s themes of resilience and leadership.

Our team supported the event through technical production and event management services, ensuring the experience ran seamlessly from start to finish. Technical Production & AV Delivery

We designed and delivered the full technical production setup for the event, including sound, staging, and visual presentation support. Our team ensured speakers were clearly heard throughout the space, managed microphone requirements, and supported the playback of presentations for the climate scientist briefing and keynote sessions. We also coordinated screen content, slide transitions, and live session cues to keep the programme flowing smoothly, key elements in delivering high-quality corporate and leadership events.

Sustainable Events Management & On-Site Coordination

Beyond technical production, we worked closely with Temwa and Spike Island in advance to shape the running order, identify production requirements, and anticipate audience needs. On the day, we provided hands-on event management and on-site coordination, managing timings, speaker transitions, and session logistics. This allowed the host and speakers to focus on delivering impactful content, while we ensured everything behind the scenes operated seamlessly, ensuring this was a sustainable event.

Speaker & Session Support

With multiple speakers and interactive elements, our team provided hands-on support to ensure each contributor felt confident and prepared. From sound checks to presentation setup and cueing, we helped create a professional yet relaxed environment that supported open discussion and collaboration, an essential element for successful leadership events.

Creating an Engaging Atmosphere

From the outset, we were keen to host the event at Spike Island, drawn by the inspiring environment and creative energy the space offers. As a venue at the heart of Bristol’s creative scene, it felt like the perfect fit, complementing the tone of the event, which focused on imagination, leadership, and climate resilience. We also focused on the overall experience, working with the venue to create a welcoming and professional setting. Thoughtful technical production helped maintain energy throughout the programme and supported meaningful engagement during the networking and discussion sessions.

It was inspiring to see leaders from different sectors come together to explore solutions and share ideas for building climate resilience. Sustainable events like this demonstrate the power of collaboration and conversation in driving positive change, particularly when sustainability is placed at the heart of the agenda.
